About This Spot

Stepping into Fry Bread House, you’re welcomed by an inviting simplicity that feels both reassuring and genuine. Nestled in a modest spot along North 7th Avenue, this place doesn’t rely on flashy décor or polished fine dining trappings. Instead, it offers a warm, cozy refuge where the aroma of freshly fried bread mingles with the low hum of conversation and soft laughter. Whether you choose the intimate indoor seating or the sun-dappled patio where four-legged friends are greeted with friendly smiles, the atmosphere is unpretentious yet deeply comforting.

Here, the pace slows down just enough to savor not only the food but the stories and heritage behind it. Fry bread, a symbol of Native American culture, takes center stage in a variety of heartfelt preparations—from savory tacos brimming with layers of fresh, thoughtful ingredients to stews that carry both spice and soul. Each bite feels grounding, a reminder of tradition delivered with an honest, unfussy touch. The flavors aren’t rushed, nor are the generous portions, inviting you to linger over your meal and found moments of simple joy.

What makes Fry Bread House special is less about a single dish and more about the whole experience—the way food connects people, offers comfort, and honors a living history. The welcoming spirit behind the counter and in the dining area resembles that of a close-knit community gathering, where strangers settle into the quiet, shared understanding of good food made with care.

Whether it’s a chilly afternoon warmed by a bowl of stew complemented by that perfectly soft, elastic fry bread, or a sunny weekend lunch dripping with fresh toppings and a touch of heat, the place invites you to slow down and enjoy something authentic. The vibe is modest and real, painted with layers of cultural pride and approachable, wholehearted hospitality — a quiet celebration in every bite.

Native Cuisine at its finest. The Fry Bread was on point!! Everything we tried was full flavored and generously portioned. The dinning area inside was limited and cozy, however we opted for the patio seating outside. We travel with a dog that was allowed to join us on the patio. So, thanks for that as well. Delicious experience! Teke a.k.a Tyo or Tio Tribal owner....keep up the great job. We'll definately recommend this spot and add it to our rotation whenever we're in town!

Great spot with big portions and a unique Arizona take on fusion tacos. I can see why James beard recognized fry bread house as an American staple. Our birria taco was huge and plenty to split between two if you aren't a big eater. I was also a fan of the green salsa. The fry bread itself was excellent, not too oily, not too sweet. The ambiance was also great, with a dive feel and welcoming attitude. I'm unsure if it's always busy, but I would recommend ordering online if you're in a rush as our food took about 30-40 minutes after ordering. I would definitely stop by again!

What a wonderful place to try authentic native american fried bread during christmas season! The bread was so elastic yet super soft, the beef green chili soup was so unique with a special kind of flavor and right amount spiciness. The staff was super friendly and service was fast despite of lots of people. The soup plus bread is only $11, such a great value!

Let me tell you, when life gets heavy and the heart gets hungry, there’s only one place that truly understands, The Fry Bread House. I popped in the other day in need of some serious comfort food, and this place delivered like an auntie at a family gathering. The vibe here is simple and cozy, no frills, no fuss, just that kind of welcoming energy where you half expect someone to ask if you’ve eaten yet (and if you say no, they’ll fix that real quick). The staff? Friendly, fast, and clearly on a mission from the Fry Bread gods themselves. My go-to order: the Native Taco. It’ll have you stuffed to the brim, spiritually renewed, and ready to forgive your enemies, and maybe even your ex. And no visit is complete without a sweet fry bread to seal the deal. Normally I’m a honey-and-powdered-sugar guy, but today I went for cinnamon and sugar (and yes, added butter, because I’m not here to play). It was pure heaven; like a warm hug from Mother Earth herself. 10/10 would absolutely come back, even if it means my jeans file a formal complaint. Fry Bread House is the kind of place that heals you faster than sage and laughter combined.

In love with this place. I never had Native American cuisine before. I’m glad this place delivered! Their Fried bread and Tacos are something you just HAVE to try. Absolutely delicious texture and flavor. Can recommend Ultimate Taco. The stew was good and burro too. But Taco def the highlight. Prepare to stand in line for 30+min during peak hours…parking is difficult too

We discovered The Fry Bread House thanks to an Arizona Adventures card our daughters gave us for Christmas, and what a great find it turned out to be. When we first arrived around 6:00 PM, I’ll admit I was a little concerned—the restaurant was fairly empty and there were hardly any cars in the parking lot. But as soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly woman behind the counter who took our order quickly, all while efficiently prepping to-go boxes. That’s when I thought, okay, they probably do a lot of takeout. We grabbed a table in the small indoor dining area, and within just a few minutes—seriously fast—our food arrived. My wife, daughter, and I were all shocked at how quickly everything came out. I ordered the red chili beef taco salad, my daughter had the red chili beef taco, and my wife went with the green chili beef taco. Every single dish was absolutely amazing. We were genuinely blown away by how good the food was—fresh, hot, and full of flavor. As we were eating, the place started to fill up. It turns out we arrived just before the rush. By the time we were finishing our meal, there were about 25 people in line, all the tables inside were full, and more customers kept coming in. When we walked out, the parking lot was completely full, cars were parked along the street, and two cars were waiting for spots to open up. It’s clear why—this place is the real deal. Looks like we’ve found a new favorite spot for a quick, incredible bite. Hopefully we can time it just right next time to avoid the line, although even watching it move, it was clear they run a tight ship: the line moved fast, and food kept coming out hot and fresh. Highly recommend.
